ZINGA Galvanising Steel Bridges World-wide
Corrosion is the biggest enemy of the structural integrity of different types of structures and buildings. Experts find that the maximum amount of structural damage to bridges is due to corrosion in varied forms. Though good design and maintenance are helping to slow the effects of time on structures like bridges, anti-corrosive products are always helpful.
Besides sound engineering and preventative measures, Zinga can help avoid corrosive damage.
The ZINGAFilm Galvanising System is a single-pack coating that contains 96% pure zinc in the dry film and provides cathodic protection of ferrous metals.
ZINGA as one of the leading anti-corrosive products is used as a unique galvanizing system and as an alternative to hot-dip galvanization or metallization, as a primer in a duplex system, or as a recharging system for hot-dip galvanized, metallization, or zinganised surfaces.
ZINGA can be applied by spray, brush, or roller onto a clean and rough substrate in a wide range of atmospheric circumstances. ZINGA is also available as an aerosol Zingaspray, handy for touch-up repairs on site.
One of the many happy customers of ZINGA, Monaghan-based Leonard Steel says “We’ve been using Zingato cold galvanize steel for over twenty years. Never had a problem. Fast and cost-effective. Gives us the possibility to control the entire process in-house from fabrication to finishing.”
To protect bridges from corrosion, ZINGA is a one-component zinc-rich coating or a Film Galvanising System containing 96% zinc (dust) in its dry film. It is a metallic coating and not a paint. The purity of the zinc used is so high that dry ZINGA does not contain any toxic elements.
ZINGA is a unique form of corrosion protection because it provides both Active and Passive protection in a form that is as easy to apply as paint.
Key Features and Benefits of ZINGA include:
- Protects as long as hot-dip galvanizing
- Can be applied on site, Can be used to re-coat existing galvanizing
- Existing layers of Zinga can be re-coated
- An unbeatable primer in the Duplex system
- High resistance to mechanical abrasion
- Excellent adhesion, extremely flexible–coated steel can be folded.
- Can be applied in extreme temperatures, Weld to X-ray quality
- Certified to not spread flame or create smoke (BS476 parts 6 and 7)
- Unlimited shelf-life and unlimited pot-life
About ZINGA:
ZINGA was originally invented at the University of Ghent, Belgium, in the 1970s and has since been used in a wide variety of projects throughout the world. ZINGA is an active zinc performance coating which works in conjunction with the metal beneath, whereas paints are only passive barriers.
